Bonne fête maman!

So the UK and USA Mothers’ Days have already passed. But there is still the French date to come. This Sunday, 28 May, is the French Fête des Mères. The weather forecast looks wonderful here in Paris so why not make some fun plans to celebrate en famille.  MLP has some top tips for you to get your family fully briefed on what they should be doing for you!

Le petit dejeuner au lit!

Yes, every maman should be treated to le petit dejeuner au lit (breakfast in bed) on Mothers Day!  Make sure your family receive their instructions the night before that they should be heading out to the boulangerie to collect your freshly baked croissants for breakfast in bed.

Fresh flowers

A few hints never go amiss so maybe you want to leave a few addresses lying around of the best flower shops in Paris.  Odorantes in the 6th district is lovely.  We love the charming

Flower.fr with locations in the 6th district on rue Saint-Peres and also at rue de Babylone in the 7th district.  The truth is there’s a beautiful florist on almost every corner of Paris and something to suit most budgets.

Le Brunch

The French are pretty good about getting out and celebrating Mothers Day at a restaurant so you’ll see lots of families out on Sunday.  Brunch is always a good idea.  You could check out the Mama Loves Paris guide to brunching in Paris for inspiration for a fun place for the family.

Green spaces

La Fête des Mères is all about quality time, and since the weather is supposed to be so nice this weekend, think about taking the kids to one of Paris’ wonderful parks for a picnic and some lazy, sunny time.  MLP has the top ten parks for you and the family to enjoy this weekend.

Get out of town

Luckily Mothers Day falls on a weekend where many schools have closed for a long weekend and so a lot of schools and offices have a lovely, long four-day break right around Mothers Day.  This makes it easy to plan a day trip that might have seemed too ambitious for a normal weekend.  Yes, you’ve guessed it, we also have the top ten day trips outside of Paris for you to peruse and decide where your family is taking you this weekend!
