The lights are up on the world’s most famous street
It’s that time of the year again!
In true Parisian style and living up to its name, the City of Lights is sparkling in preparation for La Noel!
The most famous street in the world, The Champs Elysées, has been transformed to celebrate the season of goodwill. You and your family alongside the other 15 million visitors who come to visit the Champs Elysée at this time of year, can now wander through the “yellow brick road” of wonderment to enjoy the city’s revered annual Christmas market. But, given that this is Paris it’s obviously no ordinary market! Whatever images the term ‘market’ may conjure up in your head, dispel them now, as we imagine none will stand up to the bold, beautiful, creative, illuminated scenes and experiences that Paris has prepared under that banner.
Lined with cottages, adorned with bright lights, everything you require for sustenance as well as inspiration, is on offer. Artists across the country are showcasing their work, in the Artisan section alone, you will find over 40!
This year it is bigger than ever, because they have extended the cottages to the roundabout plus, there is so much more for you and children to enjoy.
Santa arrives on his sleigh from December 1-24 pulled by his Reindeer. He will be waiting to greet all the children that visit him which they will absolutely love. A little Christmas train and track has been laid, golf carts hired, slides erected and horses brought in, so as to maximise the fun and enjoyment factor. And the famous Ferris Wheel, Ooh la la! (If you like fun fair rides) is back in all its sparkly glamour adding even more excitement!
If you are intent on throwing yourself, and the family, wholeheartedly into the spirit of the occasion – then don’t miss the Village des Nôel de Champs Elysées and go ice skating too! Yes people! A giant rink with special food stalls and fun shows for the children are awaiting your presence anytime over the coming weeks. You have to pay for this so be prepared! You’ll find the prices at the end of the post!
If it wasn’t so cold, MLP would probably erect a tent under the Arc du Triomphe right now (sigh)! It feels so very Christmassy and it’s certainly a beautiful place to capture the Spirit Noel de City of Lights. Enjoy every sparkly moment, we definitely will!
