Parental paradise has arrived in the capital, thanks to Parisian siblings Bastien and Garance Yverneau, who have come up with a genius idea to help parents and children take time out together, or apart in the same space! Now, for the first time in Paris, you can take your offspring to a destination where you can be pampered while they play or sip coffee while they create all under one roof!

In a deceptively large commercial property next to PoPo! (The affectionate term the French use to describe the Pompidou) The duo have devised the holistic concept, hoping it will have broad appeal.

Based over two floors Happy Families has a coffee shop, children’s play area, creative room, beauty salon, hairdressers and massage/therapy rooms! In addition to these spaces, they have a list of activities the whole family can participate in. For example, if you want to learn the latest hip-hop moves whilst your bundle of joy is painting in another room with lots of other children – then this is the place to do it. Or alternatively if you actually want to show off your moves to your offspring, you can actually do the class together.

The team have come up with several artistic and physical activities that your child can get excited about, while you have the choice to join them or chat with friends over a coffee, get your hair done, the nails manicured or indulge in an hour long massage completely worry free!

The idea is well thought out and seriously considers how demanding, challenging and difficult parenting can be at times. In an attempt to help families thrive and stay connected emotionally as well as physically they even offer psychological advice. For health worries they employ a dietician and an osteopath. Young mothers can also benefit from advice and support. They also provide career advice too as well as English lessons for children! It really does seem as though they have thought of everything.

Prices for therapy are around 70€, food prices are standard, beauty treatments from15€ – 125€, facials for example cost 45€.

They cater for children up to the age of 12 years old and charge around 4.50€ for babysitting. Open 7 days a week, Happy Families is open from 8am – 8pm Monday to Friday and 10am – 8pm at the weekend.

The location is absolutely perfect. The area around the PoPo is already such a fun space and Happy Families is a welcomed addition. The address has a groovy history too, having previously been a broadcast venue for Canal+, so the legendary artists Prince and Paul McCartney played there! Some how this just adds to the appeal!

_JF22634Happy Families is a one-stop shop for the whole family. It only opened a few months ago and it is already brimming with families, especially at weekends. It is the first of its kind in Paris and if successful potentially there may be many more.

We popped in to have a look around the other day and received a very warm welcome. MLP loves the idea and wishes Bastien and Garance every success.

If you want to take your offspring head to Happy Families, 5 rue du Cloître Saint-Merri, Paris. 4eme. Check out their website for more details too.
