A lucky find in the 20th Arrondissement
MLP is always on a mission to discover great places to eat with the kids in Paris. Whilst strolling in the trendy Belleville district the other day a small eaterie designed to welcome families came into view. The name alone had appeal plus the visible high chair, so it looked like a place worth exploring further.
Set on a busy steep street in the 20th district, Le Lapin Blanc is an adorable food spot. It’s narrow long interior is filled with a fun and funky decor and a tiny open plan kitchen. The staff are welcoming, friendly and the spirit of the place feels very laid-back and relaxed.
Having kids who are a little bit fussy about what they eat, the brunch menu was limited for one of our kids who detests les oeufs! But what stood out was the flexibility of the staff who created something ad hoc to ensure both children were happy as well as fed. It felt like home, as they whipped up something special.
It was easy to just chill here. We loved how coffee and tea were on tap encouraging us to feel right at home.
Our curiosity was definitely heightened in terms of exploring this venue for a night out. There was a lovely selection of wines on display and the venue offered an intimate space for a romantic dining option. A possibility for a date night perhaps?
The big win was the proximity to the park at Belleville which is ‘fantastic’ for kids. The huge climbing structure at its heart is heaven for the little ones – worth checking on the map if you are strolling through this part of town.
The White Rabbit (Le Lapin Blanc) is a cute little find in this neck of the woods, definitely got lucky stumbling across this place.
