Bienvenue à Mama Loves Paris

Hi, my name is Claudette, I’m from London and I’ve been living in Paris with my husband and twin boys for 3 years.

When I first moved here, I expected to fall in love with Paris on arrival but I actually struggled to adjust to Paris life. It isn’t easy to admit, that the reality of moving to the City of Light doesn’t quite fit with the concept of ‘living the dream’, especially as Paris is the most beautiful and adored city in the world.

But, I was determined not to be defeated by the ongoing culture shock I was experiencing, and made up my mind and created a mission to amour à Paris despite the challenges.

From that moment – Mama Loves Paris was born!

Mama Loves Paris is a mix of honest reviews, previews, opinion, insight and storytelling. Underpinning all of this is the idea of escapism. By that I mean, just letting go and having a great time with your family and friends, avoiding the pitfalls and creating great memories while you are here in Paris

The information on Mama Loves Paris includes everything across the cultural spectrum that I  think you might enjoy, and much has been suggested or recommended by other families.

Thankfully, I have the help of some wonderful people (like Jennifer Hamerman, Linda Mak, Sarah Jennings and Ami Cadugan our New York Mama!) who, when they can, write or get involved by sharing their tips or by bringing some expertise to the table. However, Mama Loves Paris needs more writers and people willing to share there suggestions, skills or ideas, so if that’s you then please get in touch by emailing me at mama@mamalovesparis.com. Any thoughts you might have, that can help improve MLP are very welcome, so please make contact.

A couple of things about me?

I used to work in the publishing industry a very long time ago and as a result, I have a magazine obsession.

I studied politics at University so maybe a tad opinionated.

I love music, dancing and laughing (a lot!!)

I talk way too much and often don’t take a breath.

I love all things creative.

Love my family, adore my friends and I’m super passionate about life.

I have never created a website before, blogged like this before or even attempted to build a fan base using social media, so I am learning as I go along.

I have worked on the site diligently but in the last year there has been a lot of upheavals and I wouldn’t have been able to continue without the unwavering support of Jennifer Hamerman, who also lives here in Paris and has supported the site through writing and Facebook updates for a good few years now. Please read about her below.

Jennifer Hamerman writes for MLP about books, arts and museums. Jen moved to Paris in 2011. She loves exploring the city with her husband and 8-year-old daughter and reporting back for MLP. Her day job is running PR consultancy Pont Partners.

We really hope you enjoy Mama Loves Paris. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you subscribe to receive the MLP newsletter and regular blog posts. There are some secret events in the pipeline too.

Please support Mama Loves Paris on FacebookInstagram, Twitter, share our posts with your friends, spread the word to anyone who is prepared to listen but above all, have a fantastic time in Paris.
